Very sad to hear that John had passed away. I will always guard very pleasant memories of our meetings over drinks in Chester in the mid-to- late 70s and early 80s, often discussing our shared appreciation of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas, and of our last drinks together in North Wales in the early 2000s.
